Initially, Landustrie sought a product configurator to automatically generate CAD drawings for two Engineering-to-Order products. However, they soon realized that Merkato offers much more, particularly in the quotation and calculation process.
Many of Landustrie’s products require detailed calculations for accurate dimensioning. All Excel spreadsheets, VB tools, and calculation aids are now consolidated into Merkato’s central knowledge database.
With real-time calculation now available for four product groups in Merkato, the Time-to-Quote has been reduced from hours to minutes. Additionally, CAD models and drawings are automatically generated for two products, saving several days per order.

During the project, Landustrie acquired an industry colleague, leading to the inclusion of the entire product range of this company in Merkato. A fourth product line was initiated during the Merkato project, with designers simultaneously using Merkato alongside technical designs. This allowed immediate visibility of all dependencies and the creation of a flexible CAD model from which variants are generated with Merkato. Quotation texts, manuals, and other documentation are also directly implemented in Merkato as part of the design process, reflecting Landustrie’s innovative vision.
The collaboration with Landustrie was mutually beneficial, with the enthusiastic Merkato team at Landustrie proposing various improvements, subsequently integrated into the standard software for the benefit of all Merkato users.
